Expected Job Duties:|
To provide professional-level skills for the design, estimation, and documentation of mechanical engineered systems for construction and renovation projects. Apply the knowledge of mechanical distribution systems including (But not limited to): Air distribution design and controls, including air handling systems, chillers, and cooling towers.
Prepare design documents, engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and other documentation for heating, ventilating, air conditioning (HVAC), fire suppression, and plumbing systems. Apply technical expertise in problem solving for mechanical construction and renovation projects. Coordinate with other design professionals in a team environment. Meet with customers in order to gather requirements, perform field surveys, and document existing conditions of mechanical equipment and devices. Develop HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler labor and material cost estimates for resources to accomplish construction and renovation projects using standards-based reference guides.
B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. Professional Engineers license a plus, or ability to sit for the exam. Experience gained through a minimum of six (6) to eight (8) years of mechanical design including background in HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. AutoCAD/Revit-based knowledge gained through a minimum of three (3) years of experience. Computer literacy in PC-based applications including Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing. Ability to work in a team environment. Effective interpersonal skills. Must possess a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
Working hours are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Requires the operation of vehicles. Ability to work from ladders, scaffolding, roofs, etc. Inspect below desks, ductwork, pipes, etc.; Lift 50 lbs.
