Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Mechanical Engineer for our Downers Grove facility.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering, highly preferred, or equivalent

Two years, minimum of related mechanical engineering design work experience.

Experience with 3D solid modeling CAD software required. Knowledge of SolidWorks is preferred.

Proven track record of using sound mechanical engineering design judgment when selecting methods/techniques for identifying solutions to challenging design problems.

Strong communication skills are required; will interface with associates worldwide as needed.

Must be able to work effectively in a collaborative and cross functional team environment (including team members in various international locations).

Experience/Skills Helpful but Not Required:
Experience in conveyor product line is highly desired.

Position description:
Develop, and take ownership of, robust mechanical designs of conveyor system components including, but not limited to, conveyor belt splicing systems, belt conveyor products, and related installation tooling.

Utilize SolidWorks software to accurately capture 3D and 2D documentation, and analysis tools to validate designs through various analysis techniques (FEA, DFM, DFA, etc).

Produce creative component designs using established manufacturing processes such as stamping, machining, sheet metal forming, welding, injection molding, and die casting; closely interact with suppliers as needed.

Use appropriate methods to generate prototypes of designs (internal manufacturing resources, SLA, 3D printing, etc.).

Lead the design, performance and evaluation of appropriate experiments to solve engineering problems, and to validate simulations (e.g., Abaqus multiphysics analysis) with empirical results.

Seek guidance and input from Project and Staff MEs, when needed, to complete assignments

Working in a cross-functional project team, participate in the product development design review process for new designs, including preparing and conducting mechanical design reviews and peer reviews

Support ongoing production support via the engineering change process, as needed

Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced engineers and designers
