JOB DUTIES

Analyzes and develops design concepts and detailed designs as directed or based on project requirements utilizing experience, engineering analysis, design information and manufacturing knowledge. Provides substantiating analysis, directs designers and drafters. Provides support for manufacture and checkout, and troubleshoots problems related to installed systems.

Perform analysis and design functions as required to complete assigned tasks. Produces substantiating analysis to reinforce or resolve technical issues.

Demonstrate initiative and independent thought in developing potential solutions to problems using available tools and information. Approach problem solving from the point of view of what is best overall solution.

Participate in manufacturing and field support and in generation of proposals. Generate report and perform to department quotes budgets and schedules.

Travel and overtime may be required to complete necessary tasks.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; and a minimum of two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Working knowledge of at least two areas of mechanic engineering (mechanical or electro-mechanical design, dynamics, structural, control system or materials) techniques and procedures.

Working knowledge of industry components, materials, and certification requirements.

CAD 3D design and modeling (SolidWorks preferred), computer based analysis (FEA, dynamics preferred), MS Office and windows operating systems.

Able to adhere to a work schedule including prompt and regular attendance.
