Position Responsibilities (key duties, scope of position, goals, expectations, skill requirements, and travel requirements):

Visible leader and unwavering support for Safety, Health and Environmental principles at the plant, including policies and procedures.
·
Ensure a safe working environment by following company standards as well as helping to create new safety standards for new projects
·
Work closely with the equipment suppliers, plant staff, Production Department, and Maintenance Department to ensure successful operation of the plant.
·
Create and update Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical AutoCAD drawings as needed for Plant and Engineering Department. Develop ownership of plant Technical Library and Drawing system.
·
Provide project management for modifications and new installations. Coordinate projects from an idea through debugging of the final installation/modification.
·
Participate in the creation of preventative maintenance routines (PMRs), lubrication schedules, spares requirements and bills of materials (BOMs) for new equipment
·
Create positive culture to maintain Holcim represented status
·
Provide technical expertise for all plant departments
·
Prepare cost estimates and justifications for the capital project plan
·
Planning, budgeting, scheduling and efficient execution of plant projects
·
Interface with vendors, including evaluation of equipment, recommendation of plant items for procurement
·
Interface with contractors utilized in plant and project work, including solicitation of quotations, selection, and field direction
·
Perform design work associated with plant projects, development of new equipment, and upgrading of existing equipment to optimize plant operation, increase capacity and improve reliability
·
Assist with preventive/predictive maintenance programs (Inspection, Vibration, Oil Analysis, NDT, etc.) as needed
·
Assist with analysis and elimination of repetitive problems through Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Root Cause Analysis, and Pareto Analysis as needed
·
Responsible for communicating maintenance engineering improvement needs within the facility to the maintenance manager.
·
Assist with planning and supervision of work during plant outages
·
Work with managers, coordinators, and warehouse staff to optimize spare part inventory
·
Other duties as assigned
Educational Criteria:
·


Bachelor´s degree in mechanical engineering preferred or equivalent experience

Other Related Experiences Required or Preferred:
·


Knowledge of manufacturing processes is required; knowledge of the cement manufacturing process is preferred
·
Heavy industry experience (3-5 years in mechanical maintenance, mechanical project work, plant construction or supervision) preferred
·
Comprehensive computer software knowledge including; Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc is desired
·
AutoCAD experience desired or ability to learn is required. Other drawing software experience will be considered.
·
Experience with SAP is desired .
·
Experience with heavy industrial equipment is an advantage
