Job Duties: Supervise and coordinate project work as mechanical lead on capital project teams. Individual will apply leadership skills with technical knowledge in the design, application, and procurement of mechanical and PCE equipment. Individual will ensure the Mechanical Work Process Discipline WPD is used on capital projects to provide the design activities necessary for the construction and maintenance of process plants. Individual will provide technical support to others and is involved with the creation and maintenance of global specifications. Applies knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems, applicable codes and standards to ensure the most effective design in compliance with Client Safety and Loss Prevention principles, industry standards and local codes and regulations is obtained.
Job Requirements: Strong leadership and organization skills and a desire to excel. Must be able to work in a team environment and able to effectively communicate with other project team members, vendors, and clients. Strong overall mechanical PCE equipment knowledge and advanced knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure codes, API standards, and other mechanical engineering related industry standards is preferred. Knowledge of design and computer tools is required.
Primary Responsibilities: Mechanical lead for capital projects. Manage quality of deliverables, schedules, man-hour budgets, weekly/monthly status reporting, and effectively lead the mechanical project team. Create technical mechanical specifications, review/approve client specifications, prepare procurement inquiry packages, technically evaluate bids, and issue order packages for equipment, coordinate review of vendor drawings/data, and supervise other mechanical engineers, designers, and modelers assigned to the project. Provide advanced technical direction to other mechanical engineers, designers, and modelers on a project task force. Understands and will use the equipment procurement process. Ensure that environmental regulations and Client Safety and Loss Prevention principles are considered in design. Coordinate the input of supplier design data into the overall project design. Coordinate additional discipline requirements into the design of equipment. Participate in equipment inspections and testing. Develop detailed mechanical equipment installation and operation instructions. Provide technical support during construction.
Experience: BS or MS graduate in Mechanical Engineering discipline and 5 10 years of experience specifically related to different types of mechanical equipment, and administrative skills. Professional Engineer registration is preferred. Occasional travel to domestic and international sites may be needed.
