Koch Heat Transfer LP is currently hiring for a Mechanical Engineer.
Design Heat Exchangers, both Hairpin and Shell & Tube type, applying the rules provided in ASME Section VIII Div 1 code. Will also use
engineering fundamentals and industry practices to create safe, reliable designs. Create drawings and details for fabrication and
customer submittal for review/approval. Perform Wind, Seismic and Nozzle load (combined loading) analysis based upon the building
and structural codes to analyze the equipment. May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, and/or repair of heat
Work Experience/ Skills Required
2-4 year experience in pressure vessel/heat exchanger industry.
Strong background in areas of mechanics of materials, statics and
metallurgy. Advance knowledge of ASME Vlll-Div 1 code. Must be
proficient with Auto Cad, Solidworks, MathCad and general office
software. Effective communicator must be able to communicate
technical concepts. Proven ability to troubleshoot, perform root
cause analysis and develop corrective action strategies.
Work Experience/ Skills Preferred
Working knowledge of ASME code rules for designing flanges and
tube sheets. Knowledge of TEMA and API-660. Work experience/
knowledge of Hairpin and double pipe Heat Exchangers. Has
experience in Nozzle load analysis for Pressure Vessels using FEA/
WRC-107/WRC-297. Experience in performing structural analysis
(wind, motion and seismic) calculations for pressure vessels based
on building codes such as UBC, IBC, and ASCE.
