MECHANICAL ENGINEER, Facilities-Comprehensive Stewardship Group (CSG), to provide mechanical engineering and design support for the CSG; technical support to CSG supervisors; and design review and supervision of outside consultants and mechanical contractors on maintenance, renovation, and capital projects. The CSG is responsible for eleven buildings within the MIT campus portfolio consisting of 3M GSF (gross square feet). Additional duties will include developing long-term mechanical system plans, identifying and determining the value of energy conservation opportunities, and establishing preventive maintenance criteria. Will work with students, administrators, professors, tradespeople, and management in a cross-functional and collaborative manner. Will report to the assistant manager for the CSG.
REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; a minimum of five years of progressive experience with a sustainable mechanical system design and planning focus; and experience with HVAC, piping, and other mechanical systems design, construction, operation, and maintenance.
