Mechanical Engineer responsible for commercial avionics mechanical packaging. Primary responsibilities include production and field support for Satellite TV products. Initial tasks may include participating in module level redesign, supporting printed circuit card layouts, performing tolerance analysis, developing design and modification documentation, and working with cross-functional teams to develop solutions to production and field problems. Other tasks may include thermal and vibration analysis, prototyping, and environmental testing.
Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as the ability to work well with a variety of disciplines within Rockwell Collins. Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments are essential. Familiarity with 2D and 3D mechanical CAD software required.
Other Preferred skills;
- Proficiency in 3D modeling and MS Office Products.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of fabrication methods and material usage for sheet metal and machined parts.
- Demonstrated electronic packaging design experience.
Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering or science field, and two years of related experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree, eight years of related engineering experience.
