Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or other appropriate discipline from a Accredited (ECPD or ABET) university.

Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Intern Engineer (IE) certificate from any U.S. state or territory.

LEED Green Associate certificate from Green Building Certification Institute, or equivalent.

Minimum of three years experience in a consulting engineering environment offering Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing [MEP] services, with a minimum of one year involvement in New York City projects.

Solid working knowledge of mechanical / HVAC design principles.

Solid working knowledge of computer software and hardware related to building information modeling (BIM) design, and energy modeling using either DOE2, Tarne Trace, or equivalent.

Solid working knowledge of AutoCad and Microstation.

Valid Driver's License.

The Infrastructure & Environment Division of URS is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Mechanical Engineer for immediate employment in the New York City 1 Penn Plaza office. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Mechanical Engineering and HVAC design, specific to commercial and institutional facilities. URS is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to projects including transportation and education.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations, and energy modeling.
• Perform HVAC equipment selections.
• Develop equipment, piping and duct layouts.
• Develop automatic temperature controls schematic diagrams and points lists.
• Participate in design coordination and QA/QC reviews.
• Participate in both in-house and client meetings.
• Assign mark-ups to CADD technicians and check their work.
• The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those stated above.
