Mechanical Engineering Intern
Primary Function of
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for supporting production released
robotic systems to deliver improvements in reliability, cost, manufacturability,
and serviceability. The role of intern is to execute a project under the
guidance of Mfg engineer.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in initiatives focused on yield
improvement, material cost reduction, capacity enhancement, and outsourcing of
Evaluate and challenge designs for technical merit, reliability,
serviceability and manufacturability. Provide suggested change proposals.
Create budget estimates for tooling, test equipment,
prototype designs, and first article activities.
Assist in day-to-day production support to ensure the
production schedule is maintained. Provide
technical support analyzing and /or performing failure analysis for discrepant
production components, assemblies and field returns.
Design, qualify, document and introduce production and
service assembly/test fixtures and equipment.
Performs other duties as required.

Design and Automation: Mechanical/Electro-mechanical
Design experience through tooling development. CAD software, control software,
microcontrollers, electrical motors, position sensors. Etc.
Failure Analysis, Design of Experiments, and Root cause
Cost analysis and cost reduction techniques and strategies.
Metrology and tolerancing practices. GD&T
Design for Manufacturing.
Candidate must be of high character and energy
with regard for detail.
Demonstrated Mechanical and/or Process
Demonstrated ability in failure analysis, problem
solving and continuous improvement.
Mechanical Engineering Major. Progression to
Junior or later GPA of 3.2 or Higher. College must be accredited.
Coursework in Mechatronics/robotics/controls desired
Solid modeling experience (ProE, SolidWorks, or
Experience using/learning MatLab, Python, C
Prior experience with: gears, motors, complex machined
parts, various sensor applications and technologies, including reliability
and performance assessment.
Demonstrated ability to effectively design
Prior experience with automated equipment,
complex mechanism manufacturing, or robotics.
Machine tool experiences a plus.
Prior involvement in
robotics design projects/competitions
