The Media Planning Consultant develops media plans by maximizing a program’s budget while utilizing the best digital media mix. The key responsibilities of this role are to translate an RFP into a comprehensive media plan and be able to manage a queue with high-efficiency and a deep understanding of our digital assets and products. In addition, the Media Planning Consultant is responsible for learning key industry trends and supporting the Manager of Media Operations in yield management. This position lives within the ad operations team and supports the sales, account management, and strategy teams. The perfect candidate will be extremely detail oriented, technically savvy and will thrive in high paced environments.
Generate digital media plans, which may include IAB, Special Offer Emails, Newsletters, Video, Mobile, Customizations, Takeovers, etc.
Leverage contract management system (AdBook) to support all aspects of media
Work with Strategists/Sales representatives to respond appropriately to RFPs
Work with the Director of Marketing Services to create new and custom media packages
Know and understand inventory numbers
Identify when inventory looks wrong and troubleshoot any issues contributing to outliers and inaccurate forecasting
Maintain the inventory product tree
Leverage performance reports to identify the best media options to meet a client’s specific needs
Ability to read and translate ad tags into meaningful targeting segments
Moderate to Advanced skills in Excel
2+ years of experience in digital marketing
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
High attention to detail
Working knowledge of HTML or other evidence of technical skills a plus
Ability to work cross functionally to ensure all goals are achieved
Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
Familiarity of ad servers (Atlas, Doubleclick, MediaMind, etc.)
Ability to work within the team framework but comfortable problem solving and identifying possible solutions on his/her own
