Medical Assistant II, Per Diem UCLA Health System -

Provide Medical Assistant support in Les Kelley Family Health Center. Duties include stocking and setting up exam rooms, preparing instruments and/or equipment, check in patients, take and record vital signs, administer and record medication. Prepare and assist physicians with procedures, perform EKG and venipunctures. This is a 10% per diem position that will last until 6-30-13.
Job Qualifications Medical Assistant Certificate. Certification in phlebotomy, CPR and injections. Skill to accurately perform a 12 lead EKG, venipuncture and give injections. Ability to obtain vital signs. Knowledge of medical terminology and computerized patient care systems. Ability to interact with patients, families, ancillary departments, physicians and co-workers in a courteous and compassionate manner. Skill in effectively conveying sensitive information in a courteous manner.
