Located at the "Crossroads" of West Texas, Scenic Mountain Medical Center (SMMC) is a full-service, 150-bed facility that is accredited by the Joint Commission (formerly JCAHO). In just the last 12 months, SMMC has invested more than $2 million in updating equipment and improving our facilities. Thanks to this substantial investment, we now have new high-definition orthopedic and laparoscopic scopes for our operating rooms, new beds in our ICU, on-site lithotripsy equipment and a new maternal/fetal monitor. Our MRI can now perform MRA diagnostic studies, and we've opened the Scenic Mountain Sleep Center. From women's services and 24-hour emergency care to surgical services and medical surgical care, our talented employees, volunteers and medical staff stand ready to meet the needs of our friends and neighbors in Big Spring and the surrounding communities.
