MEDICAL ASSISTANT OPENING
AT FLAGSTAFF MEDICAL CENTER
This is a full time 40 hour per week position. Days shift.
The Medical Assistant performs both administrative and clinical duties. The Medical Assistant is under the direct supervision of the physician, physician assistant and or nurse practitioner practicing in the Disease Management Clinic. He/She reports to the Manager of Disease Management and works closely with registered nurses, social work and other members of the interdisciplinary team. The Patient Care Technician is under the direct supervision of the physician, registered nurse and Manager of Disease Management. Both are responsible for conducting initial and on-going patient assessment, assisting providers with procedures and/or exams and with general patient care delivery needs.
The Medical Assistant do not make any decisions regarding the diagnosis, disease treatment, or emergency care plan of patients, nor are they ever involved in independent triage.
-High school graduate or equivalent education/experience – required for MA and PCT positions.
-Completion of medical assistant education program – required for Medical Assistant.
-1-3 years related job experience required.
-Clinical documentation experience - preferred.
