The Medical Assistant (MA) is primarily responsible for providing support to physicians and nurses by facilitating patient flow, assisting with various patient care activities, and performing related administrative and clerical functions. The MA is responsible for providing optimal service to patients, respecting and demonstrating patient confidentiality, and working within the established parameters of the job at all times. Required certification: Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). All medical assistants must complete a pre-employment competency exam.
