Assistant Director of Medical Billing- Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation
About the Job
Candidate must have 5+ years of combined experience as a physical therapy/rehabilitation medical biller or as head of a department managing a team of medical billers.
Experience managing billing process of multiple clinic locations.
Successful candidate supervises, develops and implements controls to ensure accurate and timely billing, reduces accounts receivable, manages delinquent accounts, monitors postings and claim status, and maintains medical compliance.
Highly knowledgeable of physical therapy/rehabilitation billing and reimbursement rules and regulations including clearing house setup and management and Medicare Part-B as it relates to physical therapy.
Strong working knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, and HCPCS codes and HIPAA laws.
Knowledge of third party authorization process including Orthonet, ACN-Group, Optum, and Palladian.
Ensures that cross-training occurs, assists in hiring, training, and evaluating employees, prepares all departmental reports.
Experience dealing with insurance contracts.
Candidate must possess proficiency with Microsoft Office Word and strong Excel skills.
Experience with Eclipse system a plus; other medical billing software application(s) experience will be considered.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational skills and attention to detail are key.
Capacity to handle confidential information.
Capability to work within a team structure as well as independently.
