Actavis Inc, a global pharmaceuticals company, is seeking a full-time Medical Communications Coordinator in Parsippany, NJ.

Summary: Under close supervision, receives and processes approved medical inquiries including speaking with the caller, coordinating follow-up action, documenting requests and responses, and developing, maintaining and updating hard copy and database files.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks. · Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.
· Receives and processes product identification calls, including speaking with the caller, providing the approved documents and documenting the request and response information from the call into the Medical Communication Database (IRMS). Investigates and sets up hard copy file as well as loads information into database.
· Determines if all necessary actions and responses have been sufficiently completed and documented in order to close the query in IRMS which includes the product list database searches, requested correct package insert and MSDS identification and distribution via fax or mailing to the caller.
· Responsible for identification and coordination of transfer of any query that is beyond direct approved responses and requires a Watson Medical Communications Dept. staff member to offer a peer medical communications reply. · Generates reports from the product list database, as needed.
· Assists in the upkeep of the reference manager database and IRMS database.
· Assists with the processing of outgoing responses via database and hard copy mailings, as needed.
· Performs related duties, as assigned.
Knowledge of: · Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and other regulatory requirements.
· Customer service procedures and techniques.
· Computer systems and database and software applications.
· English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
· Current Company policies and procedures, including safety rules and regulations.
· Standard office procedures, practices and protocols.
· MS Access database knowledge preferred.
Skill in: · Implementing goals, objectives and practices for effective, efficient and cost effective management of allocated resources.
· Managing multiple duties, tasks and assignments within time constraints and/or deadlines.
· Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals contacted in the course of work.
· Operating computer systems and database and software applications.
· Maintaining and updating manual and electronic files and filing systems.
· Communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
