The Community Health Centers of Burlington (CHCB) is seeking a Medical Director to lead our clinical programs into the future of health care. In service for over 40 years, CHCB is the only FQHC serving Vermont’s most populated and diverse region. Clinical programs include a well-established integrated behavioral health program, obstetrics and prenatal care, a homeless health care program and a dental program. Five sites reflect our diversity and scope with a rural health practice, youth health center, a comprehensive homeless health care site and clinical outreach activities. Designated a NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home in 2011, CHCB is well positioned for continued growth and now serves over 17,000 patients with a clinical staff of 20 medical providers. Our main site, the Riverside Health Center, is a brand new, 36,000 square foot LEED certified facility. CHCB is closely aligned with Vermont’s only academic medical center located in Burlington and the education of emerging physicians is highly valued. Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School and subsequent family practice residency training program.
Five years clinical experience working in an ambulatory care setting with adults and children desirable.
Two years supervisory experience of other clinical staff including providers desirable.
Experience with Medical Home Certification, peer review and quality improvement systems.
Direct work experience in an FQHC or similar safety net health care environment highly desirable.

Proven leadership skills including the ability to effectively develop, lead and supervise physicians and mid-level providers.
Ability to foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.
Ability to interface positively and productively with all administrative functions.
An affinity for working with a culturally, economically and politically diverse patient population.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to be a leader among the clinical staff in regards to quality patient care, documentation, customer service and EMR/EHR use.
An affinity for and knowledge of health care technology.
An affinity for and knowledge of the medical home model of health care and a desire to guide and lead in the consideration of and adoption of new models of primary health care.
