WVU School of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine seeks a board-certified internal medicine physician to serve as Medical Director of Care Management at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. Previous case management/utilization management experience and knowledge of CMS regulations and reimbursement models is desired. Applicants with a demonstrated leadership role in an academic healthcare system with excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills are encouraged to apply.

The Medical Director of Care Management will provide collaborative guidance to the care management department as well as hospital administration and the medical school. Responsibilities will include knowledge and oversight of utilization, managed care issues and operational and compliance matters. This position will also establish working relationships with care managers, social workers, staff RN's, attending and resident physicians and other healthcare professionals. The Medical Director is a key member of the organization's leadership team and will be charged with assisting the hospital in meeting goals of length of stay, reimbursement, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and throughput.
