Job Summary

The Medical Economics Analyst develops analytics required to understand medical cost and utilization drivers. This includes incurred but not reported (IBNR)

and reserve modeling, contract sensitivity modeling, medical cost and utilization trend drivers and its impact on overall financial performance. The Medical Economics Analyst is

proficient in both data aggregation and managed care specific acumen in order to interpret data, communicate findings, and provide recommendations as appropriate. This position must be able to p

rovide ad hoc analytical support to other departments such as Contract Management, Medical

Management and Vendor Oversight.


BS Degree required

Masters in Health Care Administration or Finance preferred

3 yr of progressive experience in healthcare analysis in a managed care setting is desired

Proven ability in medical cost/utilization/trend analysis/data-aggregation and interpretation is key

Proficiency in Microsoft applications

Experience with large healthcare databases required

Ability to navigate computerized financial systems

Experience with COGNOS, Business Objects a plus

Ability to develop, implement and effectively control and manage operating processes

Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and decision-making skills required
