The Administrator is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Pediatric Multispecialty Medical Group (“Medical Group”), a group of approximately 90 pediatric specialists with the goal to maximize efficiency and profitability of the practices. The Administrator will work closely with the physicians, Bay Children’s Physician’s Foundation (“BCP”) and Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland (“Hospital”) leadership and staff, and external service providers to achieve these results. The Administrator will work under the direct supervision of the President of the Medical Group.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in business, health administration or related field. Master’s degree or relate
r professional credential preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in healthcare with emphasis on business operations or finance related to physician practices. Minimum 3 years work experience and demonstrated success in business management of outpatient clinical practices or similar environment. Three of more years’ experience in an integrated system or Hospital preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Track record of exhibiting initiative and leadership with minimal of supervision. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate. Strong written, financial, and analytical skills. Proven ability to successfully work with physicians. Ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks. Broad understanding of the healthcare industry. Proven understanding of practice management and billing software, and related tools. Hands on ability to apply advanced skills in Excel and strong skills in Microsoft Word and Powerpoint. Superior financial/analytical skills including ability to complete financial forecasts and pro forma projections to be used in short and longer term business practice decisions. Proven knowledge of GAAP accounting practices and concepts. Must be able to work within a complex matrix environment and develop proposals balancing priorities of different interests. Ability to build consensus is critical.
