Minimum – Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science or qualified as medical laboratory technician under CLIA 88.
Medical Laboratory Technician certification required within one year of hire.
Accurately run patient, quality control and calibration (as necessary) specimens on analyzers
Accurately performs patient and quality control rapid testing (e.g. pregnancy, strep, flu, mono, RA)
Accurately processes specimens for reference lab;
Documents and provides follow-up of critical value results;
Prepares specimens in microbiology (e.g. setting up cultures, makes gram stains, incubating blood cultures)
