Bronson Methodist Hospital has an immediate opening for a Medical Records Assistant in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The Medical Records Assistant performs various duties including, answering telephones in a high volume department, releasing confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations, greeting patients, preparing medical records, scanning and labeling documents
filing, retrieving and delivering medical records, providing routine information and directing telephone calls to appropriate personnel.
Education and experience equivalent to that ordinarily acquired through a high school diploma. Three to six months related experience.
Demonstrates excellent communication skills in a high volume department, working with both the public and health care professionals.
Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize and work efficiently in complicated situations. Must have the ability to assure confidentiality of sensitive information.
The ability to provide positive customer service and use good grammar is essential.
Must be able to type and file accurately and be able to perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Previous computer experience including healthcare based
programs (i.e. Epic) preferred.
