Under the direction of the Director of Medical Records enters data into the software system which accurately reflects the resident, their care and condition complying with state and federal regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1.Enters data into the software system, including and not limited to face sheets and physician orders.
2.Responsible for entering resident contacts, addresses and phone numbers.
3.Responsible for entering census data (Admissions, discharges and payor changes).
4.Responsible for entering resident ICD9 Codes.
5.Responsible for entering resident allergies.
6.Responsible for entering resident physician orders.
7.Coordinates with appropriate facility staff to assure accuracy of data entry.
8.Responsible for keeping the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner.
9.Participates and attends training sessions, in-service meetings, and other staff meetings as requested.
Must have medical records experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential to success. Ability to creatively problem and be a team player, well organized, and flexible.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school degree and a minimum of 1 year working in a geriatric setting. Knowledge of nursing delivery systems. Experience with budgets and recordkeeping.
