A Medical Records Clerk position is available at the V. C. Summer Nuclear Station in Jenkinsville, SC.

The successful applicant will be expected to perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of maintaining medical records for the V. C. Summer Nuclear Station. The duties include, but are not limited to,:

--updating and maintaining databases;

--transmit and retrieve records in accordance with applicable procedures;

--schedule annual physicals examinations and return to work or medical follow ups with the Medical Examiner office that are required of employees.

--Interface with Medical Examiner's office to provide and receive feedback on a quarterly basis.

--Review billing invoices for medical exams;

--Review and check medical records to insure they comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements;

--Track of qualifications using existing data bases; to use this information of upcoming due dates to schedule and notify employees of upcoming physicals;

--Validate that the exam’s components met the procedure requirements; and enter all documentation into the plant record system;

--create and edit procedures and other plant documents, prepare schedules, charts, logs and track departmental information, and generate various departmental reports;

--Interface with personnel from other departments on a daily basis, routinely provide assistance on the transmittal and retrieval of records, and interact with IST to report and resolve problems with hardware and/or application issues.


This position requires a High School diploma or GED, and as a minimum shall have completed a nine month formal medical assistant program at a community or technical college.

Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a medical office setting. A candidate with a certificate or a degree in a medical specialty and/or experience in working with medical records and familiar with NRC regulations that pertain to Nuclear Licensed Operators will be considered first.

In addition, candidates must have current proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The applicant must be detail oriented, a team player, customer focused and willing to learn new processes and technology.

The candidate must have the flexibility to work overtime and support varying work schedules.
