This position is responsible for the receipt, review and follow up on all requests for copies of patient's medical information. For the recording, tracking and charging when applicable of the requests. Maintaining the Master Patient Index and medical record deficiency system.
Associates degree in medical office technology preferred. High school diploma required. One year of experience in release of information in hospital or doctor's office setting is required. Must have good communication and customer service skills. Must be able to interact with internal and external customers professionally. Must have considerable initiative and judgement. Must be knowledgeable of Federal and North Carolina statues in release of information. Must be able to work under pressure and in conditions of frequent interruptions. Must have computer and Microsoft office skills.
