Medical Records Technician will provide real-time charting for the physicians in the busy Orthopedic office by shadowing them throughout their shifts and performing a variety of tasks including recording patients' history and chief complaints, transcribing details of the physical exam, ordering x-rays, recording diagnostic test results, and preparing plans for follow-up care.
Qualifications
:
HS Diploma with one year of college, preferably in the area of Medical Office Administration or Billing fields. Working knowledge of medical terminology and accepted abbreviations. Recognition of physical exam process and ability to record exam details. EMR and general computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new applications. Communication skills and the ability to coordinate and cooperate with multiple members of the health care team. Organizational skills with focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow. Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
