The Medical Records Temporary Clerk is responsible for the organizing of retired patient records and assist with updating procedures for the handling of paper charts at Salud Family Health Centers. The temporary position will continue for approximately 4-9 months and be completed in phases until job is completed. Sensitivity to low income and ethnic minority community a must.
Works under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager
Phase 1 –
Learn and understand Salud’s Medical Records Policies
Focus on getting old records boxes out of Brighton, Ft Collins and Ft. Lupton sites and ready for destruction
Work in Administration organizing old paper charts and logs, then organizing them into a searchable computer software system (Excel or Access)
Log Box number into patient’s eCW accounts
Review current Draft SOP Procedures and make corrections
Assist Departments in moving boxes Frederick or for destruction
Phase 2 –
Organize and verify box numbers in Frederick Storage
Place into searchable computer files (Excel)
Log box numbers into eCW accounts
Review Draft SOPs for handling and make corrections / create training materials
Move boxes to get ready for destruction
Phase 3 –
Assist Operations Department with formalizing a training for the handling of paper medical records.
Qualifications for Appointment:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Microsoft Programs: Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point, ability to develop and input information into a Database
Ability to organize information and coordinate medical records tasks involving multiple departments
Ability to file both alphabetically and numerically with no errors.
Ability to detect errors in patient identification and make corrections.
Knowledge of medical/dental terminology preferred.
Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction.
Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent.
One year general office experience desired, but not required.
