Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the medical staff coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the medical staff office, managing the interface between the hospital and the medical staff consistent with administrative policies and procedures, department policies and procedures, medical staff bylaws/rules and regulations, and all accrediting agencies requirements. Maintains a continuous flow of information to the president of the medical staff, department chairpersons, medical staff and appropriate hospital personnel. This position requires maintaining absolute confidentiality of all business/work and medical staff information.
Associate's degree or equivalent in related business/secretarial medical field. Bachelors preffered.
Five years of experience with at least one of those years in a hospital/physician's office setting or medical related field.
Confidentiality is a high value aspect of this position.
Strong communication,computer and composition skills, self-motivator with independent judgment skills, and good human relations skills.
CPMSM certification by NAMSS is desired.
