The Medical Technologist is responsible for the prompt, efficient, and accurate performance, validation and reporting of laboratory test results which are utilized for the purposes of prognosis, diagnosis, treatment, and research. Specific duties include performing lab tests in compliance with department and regulatory procedures while following quality control and assurance, safety and infection control procedures; performs instrument maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting; and accurately reports tests results to appropriate parties, and is responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels in the lab. Education: Bachelor's degree in related science required.
Experience and Qualifications:
Medical Technologist with 1-2 years of generalist experience.
Excellent verbal/written communication and customer service skills
Demonstrates emotional maturity and ability to function effectively when under stress
Organizational and prioritizing skills are essential
MT (ASCP), CLS (NCA), or MT (AMT) certification required
Must complete/maintain required annual competencies per hospital policy.
