Position Summary - The Laboratory Testing Professional is a service oriented individual who is CLIA credentialed for high complexity clinical laboratory testing; possesses technical skills and experience sufficient to perform clinical laboratory specimen collection, evaluation, testing and result verification for the broad spectrum of generalist disciplines; including immunohematology, hematology, chemistry, immunology, special chemistry, urinalysis, coagulation and microbiology. The laboratory testing professional works under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisors and reports to the Area Director of Diagnostic Services, a.k.a., Laboratory Manager.
The Laboratory Testing Professional exhibits organizational skills in prioritizing work load and task urgency based on specific clinical knowledge to report test results in a timely manner and practices quality management skills to assure reported results are accurate and reliable. The Laboratory Testing Professional engages in continual learning to advance individual and team technical knowledge. This position accepts written and verbal orders for laboratory testing, applies corporate compliance measures, and fulfills acceptable orders.
