This is an at-home position which involves primarily sedentary work with continuous use of earphones, keyboard, foot control and video display terminal. This position consists of transcribing and editing medical dictation to provide a permanent record of patient care. Candidate must understand and comply with policies and procedures related to medico-legal matters including confidentiality.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Must have successfully completed courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology. Applicant must have excellent skills in English usage, grammar, punctuation and style, along with the ability to utilize the necessary reference materials. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and be able to operate dictation and transcription equipment. Successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years acute care transcription experience, however formal training plus one year acute care transcription experience may be considered. Employees must have high-speed internet access; satellite is not an option. Holiday rotation required.
This position consists of (4) 9-hour shifts. This is an overnight position, start time to be determined.
