The Meeting and Events Planner position is located at C.R. Bard Medical Division in Covington, GA.

Summary of Position with General Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the planning, execution and management of Bard Medical's exhibits, tradeshows and company meetings.

Essential Job Functions:

-Plans and coordinates strategy, organizes and executes events consistent with division and business objectives.

-Monitors events to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, laws and Bard policies and resolves any problems that may arise.

-Develops constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintains them over time.

-Communicates with managers, peers and subordinates – provides information to managers, co-workers and subordinates by telephone, in written form, email or in person.

-Communicates with people outside the organization, representing the organization to others. Coordinates services for events, such as accommodation, transportation, facilities, catering, audiovisual, signage, displays, printing, event security and special needs requirements.

-Meets with individuals and organizing groups to plan scope and format of events, establishes and monitors budgets and reviews administrative procedures and event progress.

-Uses computer and computer systems to program, write, set up functions, and enter data and process information.

-Perform site visits and inspects event facilities to ensure they conform to requirements.

-Negotiates contracts with service providers such as hotels, convention centers, exhibit companies and speakers.

-Directs administrative details such as financial operations, dissemination of promotional materials and respond to inquiries.

-Evaluate and select providers of services according to company or event requirements.

-Maintains written or electronic records of all events, including financial details.

-Conducts post-event evaluations to determine how future events could be improved.

-Recruit, organize, train and supervise volunteers and support staff required for events.

-Must be able to travel up to 30% of time

-Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role and future opportunities.

-Adheres to and ensures compliance with C. R. Bard, Inc., Bard MDU and Bard Event guidelines, protocols and policies.

Basic Qualifications:
Must work independently and have the ability to exercise sound business judgment and discretion in all matters.
•Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task effectively
•Must be willing and able to travel domestically.
•Superior written, presentation and interpersonal skills required.
•Negotiating skills required.
•Ability to follow the latest trends in the hospitality industry and translate into practice.
•Ability to work within a team and lead teams without direct supervisor-associate authority
•Ability to understand marketing strategies and tactics
•Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, Access and other PC applications.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • CMP preferred
  • Previous proven successful experience in coordination of events and tradeshows for a minimum of 3 years

Physical Demands:
  • Employee may be required to sit, bend, stoop, use keyboard, see, talk and hear. May periodically lift objects to 25-50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
