Reporting to the Director of Membership and Annual Fund, the Membership and Annual Fund Manager will work on all aspects of the Whitney’s direct mail and solicitation program to help facilitate extensive growth of the membership program. Successful candidates will be highly organized, creative, and able to manage complex and overlapping project timelines in time sensitive situations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: drafting all acquisition, renewal, reinstatement, and Annual Fund copy; evaluating and reporting on performance of each direct mail campaign including list segments; developing annual revenue projections and testing plans for mail campaigns; using analytics to refine and improve performance of campaigns; managing list exchanges/rentals; and reporting on key membership metrics on a monthly basis.

Requirements: B.A./B.S.; 3-5 years of direct marketing experience; excellent writing, communication, proofreading, and analytical skills; familiarity with Raiser’s Edge and Excel for reporting and analysis. Previous experience with or a strong interest in membership fundraising preferred. A bility to work evening hours for events and some weekends.

Additional Information: The Whitney Museum of American Art is in the process of building a new 205,000 square foot home at the base of the High Line in the Meatpacking District of New York City. Designed by architect Renzo Piano, it will be the first LEED Gold green building-certified art museum in New York City. The Whitney will double its existing gallery space and, for the first time, its renowned collection of modern and contemporary American art will be permanently exhibited on two contiguous floors. The facility will include education classrooms, 170-seat Theater, black-box space and outdoor terraces for programming. The new Museum is scheduled to open to the public in 2015.
