DESCRIPTION

A Dakota County Adult Foster Care program is seeking a full-time Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker (480001). Adult Foster Care in Dakota County (Colonial House, Foliage House, McAndrews House, River Hills House) is a 4-bed, Rule 203 licensed program for people with serious and persistent mental illness. We provide a safe environment that helps individuals become more self-sufficient. Colonial House, Foliage House, McAndrews House, and River Hills House serve adults (18+) who are identified by Dakota County Mental Health as a candidate for Adult Foster Care. All potential residents must be CADI/TBI waiver eligible.

The typical schedule for this position will be: Sunday - Thursday, 12:00am - 8:30am

DUTIES

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker will:
Provide awake, overnight support and supervision of clients living within the program
Assist clients with problem solving and daily concerns
Participate in independent living skills supervision and education
Support recreational activities and medication management
Log observable behaviors and document progress
Contribute to basic house maintenance, cleaning and record keeping

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 21 years of age
High school diploma/GED

AND HAS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
Associate's degree in behavioral science or human services
Registered Nurse
Final semester of Bachlor's degree in behavioral science field

Within the previous ten years has:
Two years of personal life experience with serious and persistent mental illness
Two years life experience as primary care giver to an adult with a serious mental illness or traumatic brain injury
2000 hours of supervised paid work experience in the delivery of mental health services to adults with a serious mental illness or traumatic brain injury

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Worker will:
Provide awake, overnight support and supervision of clients living within the program
