The Mental Health Worker position is available.
The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
The Mental health Worker is responsible for providing direct
patient care to Adolescents and Adults diagnosed with psychiatric and
chemical dependency disorders; to ensure the safety and well-being of
these patients; to support the maintenance of the therapeutic
environment. Responsible for maintaining a safe environment,
completing documentation, facilitating or assisting with groups when
necessary, following program specifications, and risk management.
Responsible for providing direct care and performing duties in
accordance with hospital policies and procedures in collaboration
with nursing service team.
The following are the job requirements for the Mental Health
High school level reading and writing skills; good oral and
written communications skills; legible handwriting; ability to
maintain information as highly confidential; telephone etiquette and
customer service skills by phone and face-to-face; familiarity with
medical and psychological terminology preferred; skills in dealing
courteously with the public and other within the organization; basic
knowledge of human behavior or principles of psychology useful;
skills in prioritizing and in managing time; problem-solving skills;
use of appropriate social skills, including demonstration and respect
for staff and patients; empathy toward patients; basic knowledge of
12-step treatment program; insight regarding denial and resistance to
treatment; knowledge of the recovery process, including relapse and
relapse prevention. Must work well in a fast paced environment; must
be flexible with scheduling. Must be available to work two days
during the workweek and every other weekend at minimum.
