DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of a Merchandiser is to drive department sales and profit through effective merchandise execution across all business channels (Web, Retail, Catalog, B2B, and Special Channels). The Merchandiser will also develop strategies to manage merchandise needs, while maintaining a common core merchandise assortment across the enterprise.

DUTIES

  • Works closely with channel owners and merchants to develop / execute promotional strategy.
  • Ensures solution-based selling for the department.
  • Manage web related KPIs to ensure optimum merchandising efficiency.
  • Ensure that merchandise assortment, capacity, and plan-o-gram standards by location are enforced.
  • Ensure that marketing plans by channel are executed.
  • Validates sku creation process.
  • Develop and execute store inventory plans, ensuring correct assortment and product levels and manage inventory levels to expected profitability and turn.
  • Influence cross functional business partners such as merchandise planning, store operations, allocation, and merchandising to communicate and build strategies that support ad plan.
  • Responsible for the store specific floor plan/merchandise layout. Work with specific MAT teams to make certain plan-o-gram standards are adhered to.
  • Responsible for web specific merchandising standards including homepage, email and banner placement throughout the site.
  • Support MAT teams in the management and execution of marketing agreements, including vendor back-end funding.
  • Ensures CO-OP dollars are being executed properly and measures departmental ROI.
  • Executes marketing plans across all MAT business channels.
  • Validates MAT pricing standards across the enterprise
  • Support MAT financial metrics
  • Manage MAT assortment depth and breadth to ensure assortment optimization
  • Analyze business trends and opportunities by building and maximizing key items and categories across the enterprise.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent work experience.
  • E-commerce experience required.
  • 2+ years of progressively responsible business, planning, allocation or merchandising experience within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Sound understanding of key performance indicators and elements that drive retail profitability and inventory productivity.
  • Strong understanding of the retail and web merchandising process.
  • Business knowledge, communication, exceptional organizational skill set. Ability to understand and support the financial objectives for assigned area of responsibility.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office - particularly Excel and Access.
  • Ability to function within a team, focused on achieving corporate goals.
  • Requires the ability to multitask and well work under pressure.
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Less than 10% travel.
  • Must be able to work extended hours as needed.
