Summary of Duties
The Metabolic and Bariatric Coordinator (MBC) assists in program development, managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP) requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition/Dietetics or Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Required)
Certifications : Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian (Required); Certified Bariatric Nurse (Preferred)
Knowledge & Skills:
Clinical Experience in bariatrics (surgical weight loss program) with knowledge of Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence standards
Program development experience with the ability to lead and direct interdisciplinary work groups
Demonstrated ability to make administrative and clinical decisions related to the assessments, treatments and/or age-specific care of patients
Working knowledge of insurance verification procedures
Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Good written and verbal communication skills
Functions without direct supervision, utilizing time constructively and organizing assignments for maximum productivity. Maintains acceptable standards in the areas of attendance, professionalism, and establishing harmonious working relationships
