METALLURGICAL ENGINEER
CTC has an opening for a part-time technical position responsible for providing technical support to engineering teams for unclassified projects in the area of materials science and chemistry. The project tasking will entail the application and evaluation of advanced materials and manufacturing processes including materials selection, development and microstructural characterization, evaluation, and the viability of their implementation into Department of Defense (DoD) systems and components.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Science plus 6-8 years of experience. Master's Degree in Engineering or Science, focus on Materials Science preferred. Strong engineering skills with an in-depth understanding of surfaces and finishing processes, materials selection, development and microstructural characterization (working knowledge of microstructure Interpretation and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) experience), strong communication skills. In addition, the ability to learn program procedures quickly and a background in manufacturing operations are also desirable. This position also requires U.S. citizenship due to DoD regulations.
