Position Title Metallurgist - Heat Treat - TX #2363

Company is a leading designer and manufacturer of mobile offshore drilling units and producer of specialty alloy plate.

This position is responsible for providing process and product metallurgy support with an emphasis on Heat Treat and Material Specifications. This will include working with the engineers of the various market groups to select the material and processing and then writing the procedures to meet the required properties.

The following duties and responsibilities are essential. Other duties may be assigned.

o Write heat treat instructions for new parts and disposition failures for Heat Treating Department.

o Coordinate with Mining, Drilling and Offshore engineering groups on material selection and processing

o Track SP nonconformances and evaluate for trends

o Perform Root Cause Analysis on failures.

The metallurgist carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor of Science/ Arts Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science degree or three years related experience.

o Must be willing to work extensive hours as needed.

o Computer literate in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, etc.

1. 3 + years of recent experience in an industrial setting as a Metallurgist dealing Carburizing and Heat Treat.

2. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
