this position would be filled from a 1st year through over 3 years based upon experience.
Position requires the ability to work outside in all types of weather, in unusual surroundings as well as normal conditions. Perform all types of Meter Services work. Electric turn on, turn off, removal, installs, change outs, rereads, reconnects, tampering etc. Responsible for working single phase & three phase self-contained meters on residential and commercial accounts. Perform disconnects on residential and commercial accounts due to non-payment of bill. Install and remove different types of locks for tampering prevention. Attend and participate in monthly safety meetings. Know and practice Entergy's applicable safety rules and safe work procedures at ALL times. Complete daily work tickets through the Mobile Data System.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Walking- must be able to walk on uneven terrain for short distances (2 miles) with full compliment of tools, and in extreme cases may be called on to walk extended distances (6 miles) while patrolling & looking for damaged equipment; Sight- candidate must be sighted; Reaching-must be able to reach up or down, and have enough strength to install various meters and other devices (40-60 meters per day); Lifting- must be able to carry a ladder (15-30lbs), and in emergency situations, employee may need to assist in pulling, pushing, or lifting limbs/brush for restoration of service; Climbing-must be able to climb in & out of a regular-sized pick-up truck or bucket truck 30-100 times a day, and when needed climb a 12ft extension ladder; Demeanor- candidate must at all times maintain a professional demeanor; Reasoning/communications- must possess good communication skills (oral & written), and must be able to understand governing regulations for our business; Safety- must possess an uncompromising safe work ethic, with ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
Successful completion of EEI CAST Testing
