Manager, Marketing Analytics and Insights
The Marketing Analytics team impacts Yahoo!’s short and long-term revenue by creating data-driven insights about its consumers and advertising effectiveness. We provide proof points for Yahoo! marketers and advertisers to help them understand the impact of their efforts in engaging users across many different products Yahoo! offers. Our ultimate goal is to engage users in daily habits across our products and build equity in the Yahoo! brand.
The manager of this team will need to deeply understand consumer marketing and advertising, insights development, and be able to provide vision and leadership for this team as they execute studies for our marketers and advertisers. Not only will this team partner on measuring the effectiveness of key programs, but they will provide as needed Performance Analytics and measurement of campaigns as they are live.
Candidates should be at ease building and managing highly productive, fast paced teams while working on a variety of corporate initiatives. They should also have experience presenting results and storytelling to senior management level and the ability to find insights where most just see numbers. This leader will be partnering with marketing and sales leads to develop a strong point of view on how Yahoo! evaluates and measures its programs.
This position is based in San Francisco, CA or Sunnyvale, CA.
Hire, manage, mentor and develop team to support all marketing initiatives
Own output of results and metrics used to define success on key programs
Scope, set up, execute, analyze, and report internal research studies
Work with internal teams as well as third party companies to ensure accurate programming, execution timing and accuracy
Provide guidance and consultancy to internal teams on methodologies for measurement
Understand all aspects and channels for marketing programs and work to define cohesive measurement strategy across these channels
Influence decision makers with strong point of view on findings and insights discovered through research
Work with advertisers and sales partners to define and execute measurement of large ad buys on Y!
Use curiosity and creativity to solve key problems with unclear solutions in measurement
5-7 years experience in marketing and advertising measurement (preferably with online/web experience)
Proficiency in strategically using data to achieve insights and goals
Experience managing and developing measurement teams
Extremely strong analytical skills and rock solid problem solving skills are a necessity
Exemplary communication skills and business acumen with ability to influence key stakeholders
Proven ability to interact with senior management, understand corporate strategy, and present actionable findings
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed and evolving environment
Familiarity with common online targeting and measurement solutions
An enthusiasm for and belief in the power of Yahoo! to radically improve the state of the art in online targeting, measurement and audience understanding
Advanced PPT and Excel skills required (additional experience in SAS, R, SPSS, Unix is a plus)
