The Microbiologist position supports the QC group at Baltimore (EMOB) site to support process optimization and manufacturing activities.
Routine job responsibilities include but not limited to:
-Daily collection of utility and environmental samples, including water and steam sample collection
-Laboratory sample receipt
-Packaging and sending samples to contract laboratories
-Compendial Testing such as MLT, growth promotion, endotoxin, TOC and conductivity
-Equipment/instrument standardization and calibration, as required for testing per SOPâ€™s
-Completion of GMP worksheets
-Data entry into laboratory data system
-Maintain inventory of basic laboratory supplies
-Daily laboratory upkeep and maintenance
-Participate in writing and reviewing basic lab procedures

Job Open Dates:
-BS or BA in Microbiology or Biological sciences and a minimum of 2-5 years of basic laboratory experience
-Experience and knowledge in the pharmaceutical and/or biotech industry in sampling and testing of critical utilities and environmental monitoring within a GMP environment
-Must have experience with basic microbiological techniques such as gram-staining, and plate reading
-Experience performing USP testing such as MLT, growth promotion, endotoxin, TOC and conductivity
-Must be able to gown as required in Production and QC Laboratory areas
-Must be familiar with basic aseptic techniques and requirements
-Advanced knowledge of cGMPs, safety and data integrity
-Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 pounds
-LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) experience is preferred, but not required.
