UPMC Health Plan is hiring a full-time mobile technician coordinator to help support the Onsite Clinics Department for its downtown Pittsburgh location.
The purpose of the mobile technician coordinator is to deliver high quality; customer service oriented mobile health screening to Medicare, and Commercial clients of the UPMC Health Plan at numerous OffSite locations. The mobile technician coordinator will work closely with the Mobile Manager to assist in all the offsite clinical screening programs. The mobile technician coordinator will involve planning, coordination and supervision of all mobile clinic staff attending the program. Onsite staff requiring direction and supervision may be subcontractors as well as internal staff. The mobile technician coordinator works day-light business hours Monday through Friday or as needed.
-Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Heath Insurance. Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.
-Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Complete forms/requisitions as needed. Schedule appointment. Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
-Prepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately.
-Other front office responsibilities, as required.
-Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
-Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
-Clean according to scheduled maintenance program and keeping appropriate records.
-Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms.
-Check schedules and organizing patient flow.
-Accompany patients to exam/procedure room.
-Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
-Collect patient information/history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
-Relay instruction to patients/families.
-Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed.
-Perform phlebotomy, EKG's, and level one labs.
-Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure.
-Assist physicians with procedures. Document patient information into the medical record.
-Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e. OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
-Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
-Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.
-Assist, coordinate and oversee mobile testing program.
-Liaison between Healthplan and Staffing, Doctors office PCP and testing sites.
-Assist with scheduling of the Mobile Units.
-Assist with scheduling of staff.
-Travel 80% in the Western PA area with overnight stays.
-Manage expense account.
-Doctors back and front office experience a plus.
-Must have current PA Drivers License and be able to drive a Van.
-Fast pace environment.
-High school diploma is required.
-Successful completion of Medical Assistant program preferred or equivalent hospital or minimum of three years of direct patient care experience.
-Prior supervisory experience preferred.
-Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
-Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation.
