We are currently seeking a highly motivated and independent postdoctoral fellow interested in studying the basal ganglia microcircuits and behavior. Research in the laboratory focuses on the molecular and circuit mechanisms of action learning and selection, using a combination of behavioral analysis, optogenetics, electrophysiology and imaging techniques. The successful candidate will employ slice and in vivo electrophysiology, together with modified rabies virus and optogenetics to dissect the basal ganglia microcircuits and action learning in mice.

Education: The candidate should hold a doctoral degree with a strong background in systems or cellular neuroscience.

Experience: Experience in slice and/or in vivo electrophysiological recording is preferred, and programming skills or computational background is desirable. Training will be provided in all areas needed for successful completion of the project. Salary will be commensurate with the level of experience.
