Monitors cardiac rhythms of patients on telemetric equipment. Interprets basic cardiac rhythms, common dysrhythmia and monitor mechanical malfunctions. Contacts RN and Charge Nurse via Vocera of dysrythmia as they occur. Documents all EKG rhythm strips of patient’s room number, name, date, and the time the strip was obtained. Maintains monitor strips for patient’s medical record. Runs monitor strip and places in the medical record every 4 hours, per MD order, or when abnormal.

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration
  • High School Graduate or equivalent plus one of the following
  • Three years experience as a monitor technician preferred .
  • EKG and arrhythmia recognition training
