The Monitor Technician is responsible for monitoring patient cardiac rhythms, obtaining and accurately interpreting rhythm strips on telemetry patients and notifying nursing of all changes; assisting and performing and organizing the necessary materials needed to maintain the medical record of the patient.
*High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Paramedic-certified applicant highly preferred.
*Basic EKG course and experience with cardiac monitor interpretation including knowledge of paced rhythms or basic and advanced EKG courses.
*Must have medical terminology. Computer experience required.
*One year experience in a hospital or clinical emergency setting as a monitor technician or paramedic.
