DESCRIPTION: Under the leadership of the Manger/Supervisor provides technical/clerical support to assist in the delivery of quality care to patients. This involves technical/clerical duties which will facilitate operations including routine management of the telemetry room functions and documentation, interpretation of rhythm strips, ensure proper management and maintenance of telemetry equipment, ensure quality patient care through diligent maintenance of continuous telemetry as required by physician order or patient need, and prompt staff notification of dysrhythmias.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Must have successfully competed Basic Dysrhythmia course and passed the telemetry test prior to hire or certificate from cardiology program.
• Must have excellent customer service skills to handle request with tact, diplomacy, patience and respect.
• Physical demands are light; mostly sedentary with some walking within unit and to and from other departments; oral and hearing acuity required to receive instructions and converse on telephone; visual acuity required to record information accurately.
