The Monitor Technician, who reports to the Nurse Manager, performs continuous cardiac monitoring, identifies dysrhythmias and reports findings to the nurse. The Monitor Technician also maintains telemetry transmitters, organizes data for the development of cost-conscious departmental operating budgets, and complies with hospital safety and infection control standards. The Monitor Technician demonstrates an ability to place electrodes on patients and begin the monitoring process.

Successful completion of a monitor technician training course
