Southeast Georgia Health System has an opportunity for a Monitor Technician to join our team!
The Monitor Technician is responsible for scanning, interpreting, and reporting all cardiac rhythms displayed on monitors. The Monitor Technician may perform other related clerical duties and maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work area.
The Monitor Technician performs the following essential responsibilities:
Consistently detects arrhythmias. Distinguishes between non-threatening and lethal arrhythmias. Documents arrhythmias as required.
Obtains admission/on-going rhythm strips and places on patient’s medical record per unit protocol in timely manner.
Coordinates work to achieve maximum productivity and efficiency.
Is consistently proactive and assist in care and maintenance of unit equipment and supplies.
Is accountable for all transmitters and cables in use each shift.
The ideal Monitor Technician candidate should possess the following minimum qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Monitor Tech experience preferred
Successful completion of Monitor Tech course within 90 day probationary period
Knowledge of medical terminology
Ability to work a flexible PRN schedule of varying days & hours as needed
